Trisha Yearwood the once-in-a-generation vocalist will join

The Voice as a coach in season 17




After “The Voice” singer’s Trisha Yearwood cover turned heads during the blind auditions, NBC announced Friday that the famous country singer will be joining The Voice as a coach for season 17, which will air this summer 2019. Replacing Blake Shelton, Yearwood will join returning coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and John Legend, as well as host Carson Daly.


“I am truly blessed to be given the opportunity to coach on The Voice. I have watched people sing my favorite songs and some of my own, I just so happy to be inspiring and building talented singers for this world to experience,” Yearwood said in an interview. “I can’t wait for my team to win, I hope the other judges are ready for me.”


Her unique voice, featured with excellent song choices, scores her a spot on the list of country music's most powerful women.


Yearwood possesses an unusually resonant voice, and she employs it with excellent pitch control and tone on a long list of hits. Yearwood won a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 1998 for "How Do I Live," the powerful theme song from Con Air today. She's also won an American Music Award and an Emmy for her cooking show.


In the singers most recent years she's been on the road with Garth Brooks her longtime friend before they ever married, who have teamed for several emotional hits including "Like We Never Had a Broken Heart" and "In Another's Eyes." for one of the biggest country music tours ever. Her success and feminine power has made Yearwood one of the easiest artist to make the list of country music's most powerful women of all time.


Lastly, not only will she be instructing The Voice contestants in the ways of making ground breaking records, Yearwood can also give advice about staying ambitious, positive and winning awards.
